1. Kanni Goat:

Our expertise lies in the promotion of Vellai goats, specifically the Kanni and Kodi breeds. These goats are known for being the tallest and darkest breeds found in Tamil Nadu. They are easily identified by the two white stripes on their face, ears, and neck.
The Kanni Goat, with a white underbelly and inside legs, is referred to as Balkanni, while those with a reddish-brown color instead of white are known as Senkanni. Both male and female goats have horns, with males weighing between 35 to 40 kg and females weighing between 25 to 30 kg. These goats only ovulate for the first time after eight to ten months, and subsequently give birth once every seven months. They are capable of bearing two to three young at a time, with Kida lambs weighing around 2.1 kg at birth and Keta lambs weighing around 2 kg.
By the age of one year, Kida goats grow to about 22 kg and Box goats to about 21 kg, with Kida goats reaching a height of approximately 76 cm and Kanni goats reaching a height of about 72 cm.

These goats typically give birth to one or two offspring.
Kodi Goats have long legs and horns, reaching a height of three feet within 15 months of birth. Females can gain up to 15 kg in weight within seven months, while males can reach 20 kg in the same timeframe. The primary purpose of raising Kodi Goats is for meat production.
